Response to the conference at the Duckworth Centre

Llyod Axworthy made his way up to the podium to give his few minutes of speech. A speech that echoed a broken record of Academic and Athletic Excellence. Greatness, you know, that only an athlete that can give apparently. It is a speech I’ve heard from Dr Axworthy before, for instance, any and all graduations I have attended.

Wesmen receive awards for excellence

Justin Duff (Wesmen men’s volleyball) and Catie Gooch (Wesmen women’s basketball) both received awards for Athletes of the Year. They were way ahead of the running. These two athletes have pulled their teams from many possible losses, and kept everyone supported on the court. It’s a cheerful day to see hard work being paid off.

Winnipegger’s rejoice as the snow is beginning to melt but the only downfall to this fantastic news is that there are no more Wesmen sporting events happening at the Duckworth Centre. However, that is not stopping me from sharing the season with you. So get comfortable, sit back, wave your little Wesmen flag and reminisce with me.
